A report of a man with no shirt carrying a handgun led to Tracy police officer detaining three people during a “high risk” felony stop on the first block of West 12th Street this afternoon.

Reports on the police scanner said a man with no shirt was carrying a handgun in his waistband in the downtown area. He was seen getting into a dark blue car that headed down Adam Street.

Tracy police officers made felony stop on the car on 12th Street west of Adam. The occupants of the car were brought out at gunpoint one at a time.

A search of the car produced a pistol and an ammunition magazine. Scanner reports had the gun reported as stolen. Two of the car’s occupants were later released at the scene, and officers are still investigating the incident.

Oh - I don't have anything against CONCERNED NEIGHBOR - maybe she is even a nice person. She just reminds me of someone who sits all day watching out the front window so she knows all of the neighborhood news and gossip. But that is ok. Some people happen to be like that.

I've carried a loaded gun on me and in my car sometimes. As scary as this town is I cant blame people.

I got shot with a bbgun and I saw the people and Tracy PD DID NOTHING. So its clear to me since Tracy PD has no interest in protecting my safety, I protect myself.

I looked at the pictures, hoping to count the arrested, but noticed there's baby car seat... maybe the Mommy and the baby was let go?

Hope to hear more news on this.

Just speculating on the article.

LAM75, you are not alone with your confusion.

I had to gather there were probably 5 people total, three were detained, so two were let go???

I could be way off the base?

The two that was released must have excellent record and airtight case that they are innocent?

Nevertheless, glad he was stopped.

I'm a little confused here. The occupants of the car were released, but I do not know why? The police found a pistol (synonym to gun right?) and an ammunition mag in the car. The gun was reported as stolen. The owner's of the car did not steal the gun even though it was found there. Am I missing something here? Isn't stealing against the law?
