Tracy police have named two more suspects in the homicide of Kevin Prater II.

Local men James “Flacco” Stancampiano and Emmanuel “Manny” Mendoza, according to Sgt. Tony Sheneman, are wanted for involvement in Prater’s death Sept. 15, when Prater was shot and the car he was driving crashed into a fence on Sixth Street.

Stancampiano is an 18-year-old Latino with short, dark hair. He stands about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. Mendoza, 19, is also Latino and wears a mustache. He is 5-foot-8 and weighs about 200 pounds.

Police conducted several searches Wednesday, Sept. 22, but did not find the suspects.

Tracy police ask anyone with information about their whereabouts to call Tracy Crime Stoppers at 831-6847, Detective Timothy Bauer at 831-6605, or Detective Craig Kootstra at 831-6637. A reward is offered for information that leads to their arrest.

Edgar Canseco has already been arrested in connection with the killing and remains in San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp without bail.

lookhere, if your correct that they simply where just at the wrong place at the wrong time, then they should turn themselves in and help the police with their investigation.

If I or anyone was accused of being involved in a crime that we didn’t commit or participate in, then it would be our responsibility to voluntarily turn ourselves in to clear our name as soon as possible, which would help the police save time and offer what information we have to help find who’s responsible.

Somebody always pulls the race card.

I spoke w/A Mexican couple, they told me they home school because of this.

They are worried about their children being pressured into a gang.

Getting involved with drugs.

The peer pressure.

There was nothing racist in my previous post.

to cody01: It's ethicity AND facial expression. I don't go shopping, yell "Oh my gawd there's a Mexican in here" and go running out the door. All these photos of killers show faces expressing what's going on inside their heads. They're dead inside. Nothing's happening on the other side of their eyeballs. These are STUPID criminals and stupid criminals are exremely dangerous. They commit murder for the most minimal of reasons. They're walking time bombs. I live in southern California. I think there's 90,000 gangmembers in Los Angeles alone. It's practically impossible to go out in public here without encountering these young men with dead eyes. So we avoid looking at them. We pretend they're not there. God forbid they mistake a look as an insult. These are today's societal boogymen. People in southern Calif, especially older people don't drive at night. They stay home with the doors locked after nightfall.

Seriously people back off on the race issue because frankly, it is not the issue.

TP & TPD how about a little more info. on these 2 suspects. Are they from Tracy? Any more photos available? Anything?

Prater family, Is it your wish not to have a picture of Kevin Prater II in the paper?

Anybody near that car during the shooting is a suspect.

Some kind of mafia gangsta hit?

Or, just a drug deal gone real bad.

If it was a hit, all those witnesses, That was stupid.

I would go for the wannabe mafia gangsta hit to take his drugs/money.

All the shootings in Tracy have one thing in common.

Ethnicity.

These POS's are too young and too stupid to be heading south, I doubt if they even know which direction that is. chances are they are laying low right here in Tracy.

Just offer free benefits (or tacos) to the person that gives them up.

Someone will squeal.

This is Kevin Praters Aunt. The family greatly appreciates all words of support and concern. It doesn't matter what race any of these men are. What really matters is that their families will be able to hear their voices, see their smiles and feel their hugs. All of the things they robbed us of.

Let's hope this gives the Prater family at least a little bit of peace during this horrible time.

TP, By Local Men do you mean Tracy?

Come on folks...... if they were Johnny Smith and Fred Jones, they would still be suspects in a MURDER. Let's not let their ethnicity become the focus of this blog. They are suspected in ending the life of another human being and should be held accountable for their actions no matter what nationality they are.
