Gerdy is a 2-year-old female domestic pit bull at the Tracy Animal Shelter. Many adult cats and kittens are also ready to adopt. The staff seeks donations of food and toys for dogs and cats.

• The shelter, 370 Arbor Road, is open from noon to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. For information: 831-6364.

Poppy is not a Pit Bull, BUT her fur is exactly like the dog shown! Poppy is about the same size as this pooch as well.

Looks like she was wagging her whole body and ready to give kisses!

Sure wish there were a story behind every pet left at the shelter.
