The event, hosted on the school grounds, marked eight decades of the school’s present location at Chrisman and Linne roads.
Tom Hawkins, Jefferson’s principal for 31 years before he retired, said the rural school always has had great community support and motivated, high-achieving students — “all part of the Jefferson mystique.”
