Five students from Tracy have returned from a five-week visit to Japan as part of the Lions International Youth Exchange program.

The Tracy teens lived with several Japanese families during their stays, visiting local points of interest and gaining an understanding of the Japanese culture.

Their participation was supported by the Tracy Lions Club, which has been a longtime sponsor of the program, according to Ken Yasui, chairman.

Tracy’s representatives in this year’s exchange were Chris Hoovler, Alex Cheung, Andrea Hanlon, Tyler Jackson and Bridget Emery.

On their return, the Tracy students reported on their experiences in Japan to members of the Tracy Breakfast Lions Club.

Before the Tracy students visited Japan, a group of Japanese students traveled to Tracy as part of the same program.
