Two women who face accessory charges related to the shooting death of a Tracy man at Amore’s Italian Restaurant in 2009 are due back in court next week.

A preliminary hearing date will be set for Cecilia Naomi Colon and Maria De La Luz Martinez when they appear in San Joaquin County Superior Court in Stockton on Tuesday morning, Aug. 24.

Two men — Michael Mau and Johnny Martinez — are also accused of involvement with the homicide and will return to court Monday, Aug. 23, to confirm the jury trial date set for Sept. 20. The men are being tried separately from Colon and Maria Martinez.

Mau, 24, faces one count of homicide, seven counts of attempted homicide and several other charges stemming from the Oct. 10 shooting at Amore's that killed Naim Bey, 41, and wounded six others inside the restaurant. He also faces gang enhancement charges.

Martinez, 25, faces charges of being an accessory after the fact, street terrorism and committing a crime for the benefit of a street gang.

Charges against a third defendant, Elvis Mendoza, were dropped in March, a month after a preliminary hearing in which police and witnesses testified that Mau and Johnny Martines are known South Side Tracy Norteño gang members.

They're all scumbags. Off to the Gulag and forced sterilization for them.
