Tracy police received 144 calls for service on Monday, Aug. 2. The following is a sample of those calls.
12:34 a.m.: An officer explained to two roommates how to get a restraining order against one of their ex-boyfriends after an argument between the three on the 500 block of West 10th Street.
3:19 a.m.: Fireworks were reported in Galli Park, 2341 W. Lowell Ave.
9:29 a.m.: A caller at C & S Metals told police someone cut through a chain-link fence the night before and burglarized the business.
9:35 a.m.: A caller on the corner of 11th Street and Alden Glen Drive reported a Rottweiler running loose.
11:15 a.m.: A man on the 1300 block of Whittingham Drive said that his soon-to-be ex-wife “became physical” with him when he went to pick up his son. The wife left when the man called police.
1:14 p.m.: A caller from Sutter Tracy Community Hospital reported that a juvenile was in the emergency room after his father beat him and pointed a cocked gun at him.
2 p.m.: A red Lexus and a white Montero were in an accident at Eastlake and MacArthur drives.
3:32 p.m.: A caller on the 100 block of Yosemite Drive reported that a driver’s license, Social Security card, and birth certificates were stolen from her purse.
3:51 p.m.: Dispatchers received a call from someone screaming about a hostage situation on the 800 block of Williams Street. It turned out to be a roommate having difficulty moving out of the residence.
5:53 p.m.: Three women were booked into county jail in French Camp after they were arrested for stealing several bags of items from Osh Kosh B’Gosh, 1005 Pescadero Ave.
6:17 p.m.: A red Volkswagen Jetta was broken into at 7-Eleven, 2360 W. Grant Line Road, by a man wearing a beanie, jeans and a white tank top who drove away in a gray four-door sedan.
8:13 p.m.: A caller on the first block of West Carlton Way said that his neighbors have been siphoning gas from her car. She called back at 9:55 p.m. to report that the people were out at her car.
8:55 p.m.: Someone near Grant Line Road and Parker Avenue reported that a driver in a Toyota Camry “intentionally” sideswiped the caller’s car.
11:51 p.m.: A man who is a “regular problem” was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on the 500 block of West Whittier Avenue.

Dad probably took the gun from the punk kid and tried slapping a little sense into him, to no avail.
