Tracy Police logged 529 calls on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, including the following reports.
Friday
5:59 a.m.: A car was found flipped over on Grant Line Road near Chrisman Road. There was nobody there at the time, and police determined that the crash happened sometime during the night. Police found the car’s owner, who called for a tow truck.
1:03 p.m.: Tracy Toyota, 2895 Naglee Road, reported a group of protestors in front of the business. Police advised that as long as the people stayed off the business’ property they weren’t doing anything illegal.
3:15 p.m.: A Tracer bus driver requested police help in getting a drunk man off the bus.
8:11 p.m.: Someone broke into a vacant house on the 1100 block of Cambria Court and stole appliances and copper.
9:25 p.m.: A woman told police that she came back from vacation that morning to find that her son’s Ford Explorer, parked in front of her house on the 1900 block of Pheasant Run Court had its tires slashed and a window broken out. She called police when she returned that night and the car was gone. Police noted that it had been towed earlier in the day after it was reported as an abandoned car.
Saturday
12:35 a.m.: Neighbors complained about a group of youths in Jim Raymond Park, 1400 block of Sentinel Drive. Police arrived and arrested a 37-year-old man on warrants for previous arrests.
12:39 a.m.: A police officer pulled over an older Chevrolet Impala that was swerving and moving slowly along Kavanagh Avenue near Holly Drive. Police arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving and towed his car.
2:20 a.m.: Police went to a park behind the 800 block of West 10th Street after someone complained about a group of three or four people in the park after-hours. The people ran off when police drove up, but officers did detain a youth and an 18-year-old man. The 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and resisting arrest, and the youth was released to his parents.
3:01 a.m.: A man told police that he was clubbed in the head by some men on bicycles in Dr. Powers Park, 900 block of West Lowell Avenue, as they tried to rob him of his paycheck.
5:01 a.m.: Someone crashed a car into a tree at Schulte Road and Tracy Boulevard. A caller said three people got out of the car and ran away. Police called a tow truck and tried to find the car’s owner.
2:31 p.m.: A woman reported that her Honda Civic had just been stolen from the 100 block of Cedar Mountain Drive. Neighbors gave the description of the man who had been loitering in the area and was seen getting into the car. Police found the car about a half-hour later and arrested the man, identified as Anthony Edward Harter, 23, on suspicion of auto theft and possession of a stolen car. He was booked into San Joaquin County Jail on $40,081 bail, and awaits a Tuesday afternoon court date in Manteca.
5:18 p.m.: Police went to the 1800 block of Birchwood Lane to talk to a man who had been arrested two years ago on suspicion of impersonating a firefighter. Alameda County firefighters believe he might still have a helmet, jacket and pants belonging to the department. Police found that the man no longer lives at the Birchwood Lane address.
10:36 p.m.: A person reported that a white pickup was swerving all over the road on westbound 11th Street coming into town. Police caught up with the truck on southbound MacArthur Drive as the truck turned onto Wagtail Drive and drove toward D Street. Police arrested the driver, a 36-year-old man, on suspicion of drunken driving, and towed his truck.
Sunday
12:17 a.m.: Police arrested a 45-year-old woman on suspicion of drunken driving at Tracy Bouelvard and Kavanagh Avenue, where police set up a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint. Police towed her BMW 325i.
2:29 a.m.: Police arrested a 47-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving at the corner of Grant Line Road and Tracy Boulevard, a couple blocks away from their checkpoint. Police towed his Volkswagen Passat.
5:01 a.m.: Police went to Fine and Hollywood avenues for a report of a man and woman fighting. Police arrived and found the woman on the ground, and arrested the 18-year-old man on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.
3:19 p.m.: Police went to the southwest part of town after a woman called 9-1-1 to report that her husband threw a glass bottle at her and then jumped out the bedroom window. Police found the 31-year-old man and arrested him on a warrant for a previous domestic violence arrest.
3:32 p.m.: Police went to the 2400 block of Naglee Road after PetSmart reported that a man stole a dog chain, and Marshalls reported that the man had tried to steal some clothing earlier and dropped it on the way out. The man reportedly went back into Marshalls and put on a shirt that he had tried to take earlier. Police arrested Benjamin Duran Vargas, 43, on suspicion of felony charges of burglary and petty theft with prior convictions, and took him to San Joaquin County Jail where he was held on $65,000 bail pending a Tuesday afternoon court date in Manteca.
4:46 p.m.: A man reported that another man clubbed him with a gas pump nozzle at the AM/PM station, 2430 Joe Pombo Parkway. The assailant was gone when police arrived.
6:49 p.m.: Police investigated a car stuck on the median at Crossroad Drive and Merchant Drive. Police found that the driver was wanted on a warrant for previous charges, and he was booked and released.
7:31 p.m.: Sutter Tracy Community Hospital reported that a woman came in with a laceration to her ear. Police learned that it was a domestic violence case, found the man in the central part of town and arrested him on suspicion of domestic violence and mayhem. The 31-year-old man was booked into San Joaquin County Jail on $150,000 bail and awaits a Tuesday afternoon court date in Manteca.

Neighbors on the 500 block of West Carlton Way called police at 12:59 a.m. Friday to report people with flashlights looking in cars. Police found cars that had been broken into and were missing stereos, and also stopped a group of people who had stereos in their possession. Officers at the scene were unable to contact any of the victims, and police investigated to determine if any of the stereos the people had were stolen.
