The Friends of the Mountain House Library recently wrapped up its first book sale during the town’s Fourth of July celebration at Central Community Park, collecting $360. The group, which was incorporated as a nonprofit in early July, will continue to collect donations and reach out to the community.
Club president Elizabeth Brady said she’s seen great excitement and a focus on education among her neighbors.
“Mountain House is a pretty literate community,” she said. “We’ve had an overwhelming response.”
The group also plans to sell recent bestsellers and similar titles for a few dollars apiece from a dedicated bookcase at the library branch, 579 Wicklund Crossing.
The next meeting of Friends of the Mountain House Library will begin at 6 p.m. July 30 at the library. New members are always welcomed.
