Police Log: Car talk leads to argument

A woman called at 12:43 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, from the 1800 block of Amatchi Drive and said that a man who followed her father-in-law home in a van from Mountain House was in a yelling match with her father-in-law. Police tracked down the van on Schulte Road and found that the argument was over who had the faster car.

Tracy police received 157 calls for service Wednesday, July 21. The following is a sample of those calls.

12:26 a.m.: A caller from the Royal Motel, 1201 W. 11th St., said that a man was assaulting a woman there. Police took a man there to the police department downtown to identify him. Police determined he wasn’t the person they were looking for even though they couldn’t ID the man, and they released him at the Royal Motel.

6:25 a.m.: A caller on the 100 block of East Ninth Street said that someone might be trespassing at a neighboring home.

9:13 a.m.: A caller on the 1200 block of Manley Drive said that someone tried to steal the caller’s car the night before and left fingerprints all over the window.

9:56 a.m.: A house on the 300 block of Glenbriar Court was egged during the night. The caller said his ex-girlfriend probably did it.

10:53 a.m.: A man was reportedly trying to steal a car near Healthy Connections, 35 E. 10th St.

11:39 a.m.: A belligerent man was banging on someone’s door on the 300 block of West Court. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant by police a few blocks away.

1:45 p.m.: Identity theft was reported by someone living on the 900 block of Appalosa Way.

2:22 p.m.: Vandalism was reported on the 200 block of East Ninth Street.

5:30 p.m.: Two callers reported that people who looked like gang members were in a fight at the corner of Alden Glen Drive and Meadow Lark Lane.

5:51 p.m.: A woman called police from her church about her daughter, who allegedly spit in the caller’s face during an argument about burned hamburgers on the 400 block of Lowell Avenue.

8:55 p.m.: A group of people were using a vacant house on the 100 block of East Ninth Street to smoke drugs in, according to a caller. Police warned a group of minors there about trespassing.

Actually you're on the right track.

What I heard was they settled it tho old fashion way ... pulled over and shined their

headlights out into the night ... than had a peeing contest.

Rumor has it that the the guy with the mini-cooper is never to be underestimated.
