I agree. Having lived thru the hippie/drug thing during the 1960s/early 70s I can attest that dope is self-limiting. Hallucinogenics can actually elevate one's perceptions IF the person reads up on what to expect beforehand. Dumbest thing anyone can do is take LSD,etc then go out in public. Guaranteed bad trip. Marijuana loses it's appeal once the kid moves out of mom & dad's house and has to compete in the real world. Stupidity does'nt go well with trying to hold down a job that requires brainwork. Opiates and meth are WAAY different. These are suicide drugs. I look at it from a genetics perspective. A cat has a litter of five kittens. Four are strong, one is weak. The weak one dies. Same goes for humanity. Persons using meth or heroin have made the choice to die. That's wonderful. Improves the gene pool for the rest of us.

Read this in 2007. Gang on gang (& unfortunately, harm to innocent bystanders) violence has escalated. Gangs of all ethnicities are often promoting capitalism: they provide product (drugs) to their many customers. This is one way gangs gain power and money. How can that power be taken away? The USA could continue to 'Just Say No to Drugs,' and spend billions of dollars fighting drug trafficking. Or they could make drugs legal. What a concept!

Interesting facts? Where are these facts reported?

No doubt some illegals commit crimes (other than being illegal aliens), but these figures seem too high.

Hard working illegals do work for less pay, but they aren't 'wip(ing) out the jobs that blacks used to have.' Many take the jobs Americans won't do for the pay offered. This happened in a New England coastal town where all illegals were sent home and the fishing business 'help wanted' postings went unanswered. Even when wages were increased, no one wanted the jobs. Hmmm.

Businesses could offer more money to get employees. How high would they have to go? That would result in more working Americans. It would also result in high costs for produce, meats, construction, dining out, etc. Probably a 20%-40% increase in costs. That's OK with me.

to TCY1: Both radical Islam and Hispanic activists present the same problem to the groups each claims to represent. There's a reason we're not hearing from the normal people. Anyone Hispanic or Muslim who speaks out against the radicals risks death. There's a lot of Hispanics who became American citizens the right way. Who've worked hard, finnally achieved financial success and deeply resent illegals sneaking into America like cockroaches in the night and working for 1/3rd the pay. Not to mention that Hispanic illegals have pretty much wiped out the jobs that blacks used to have. Hispanic activists say it's Hispanics versus whites. That's not true. It's Hispanics versus everyone-else.

On more serious note:

Keep closer eye on your offsprings.

2:24 p.m.: A person gave CPR to a 3-year-old child who had fallen into the swimming pool at Sycamore Village on the 400 block of West Central Avenue. The child was breathing and crying by the time emergency crews arrived.

and

4:29 p.m.: A woman on the 4600 block of Riverview Court reported that her 3-year-old twin sons were missing. They were found at a nearby park and a neighbor brought them back to their parents.

But not like this:

7:05 p.m.: Police arrested a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of vandalism after a man on the 200 block of West Clover Road reported that his ex-girlfriend, with her 16-month-old child in her arms, threw a rock through the window of his house.

Next time lady (?), leave your 16 month hold with your Mom or reliable babysitter?

Why am I thinking about the movie, "Cocoon", directed by Ron Howard....

9:51 p.m.: A group of about 50 youths, some wearing red hats, gathered in the street on Regina Drive, blocked traffic and appeared to be preparing for a fight. They ran off toward Central Avenue before police arrived.

and

6:56 a.m.: Someone on the 1000 block of Appaloosa Way reported a man with a red hat and a woman with no clothes were being loud and throwing cans and clothes. The caller said they appeared to be drunk.

Drunk with regrets for not regaining their youths?

Palm Circle... The a**hole of Tracy.

Amen. I would raze that block if I were in control of the city, along with the scummy duplex neighborhood behind the pizza place on the corner of Tracy and 11th.

Is it just me, or does the heat bring out the BEST in people......NOT!!!!

Every hot summer evening brings out all the scum in town. While the good people are in their house either watching tv, playing with their kids, or headed to bed, all the scum are outside making noise and causing trouble. I have some neighbors that have taken to playing basketball at all hours of the night since it got hot. All night long I get to hear thump, thump, thump and a bunch of shouting. What kind of waste of skin has the time to play basketball at 10 or 12 PM at night? Don't these people have a job to go to in the morning, or at least some respect for those of us that do?

The man, also known as "Stubby" would later be disqualified for wearing a hat!

Thank You person!!!

Please don't think I'm losing it from my previous comment. I just think it is weird showing such pictures on a cell phone.

Won't it be wonderful when our great president grants amnesty to the 20-30mil illegal immigrant Mexicans that have many children that grow up to be gang bangers? You think it's bad now, just wait till these punks start over breeding like little rats. We are most certainly in for some MAJOR cultural changes in this once beautiful country. They want all these damn criminals AND take your right to gun ownership, we are certainly doomed. I am very afraid for the next few generations of true Americans.
