Today’s Remember When “mystery photo” shows a “riverboat gambler” and a “dance-hall girl” getting geared up for a local fundraiser in 1985. Who are they, what was the event and who sponsored it?

Last week’s Remember When “mystery photo” shows a Tracyite being tested for heart problems while walking on a treadmill at Tracy Community Memorial Hospital in 1973. The test was part of a three-year study carried out by the Stanford School of Medicine. At the same time, residents of Watsonville were being tested to see if an aggressive heart-education program there would produce results contrasting to those in Tracy, where only a limited education program was offered.
