The night sky above Wayne Schneider Stadium was bursting with color as the annual fireworks show brought the July Fourth celebration to an end Sunday night.

Hundreds of people watched the pyrotechnics show from the stadium bleachers and football field, while others viewed the show from Lincoln Park.

The finale drew cheers from the crowd as the fireworks lit the stadium with a fiery glow.

The fireworks show lasted just under a half an hour.

Kpezzy21, must've missed that press release. Where did you read or hear about that? I've looked in all local papers and 'googled' and 'binged' that story and can't find anything. Help please!

My question is this, why did Tracy PD put out a press release stating that they would be charging parents caught lighting fireworks for their children with child endangerment? Really? honestly what is going on? Is the City so broke, that is has to go after it's own people for celebrating independence day??? such BS

Sneaky, the 4th has to be commercialized, otherwise no one would show up to celebrate. It's just another 3-day weekend for most "americans". The TP headline for the parade stated that it was a "cultural celebration". Nothing to do with the true purpose of the 4th.

Do our public schools even teach the accurate historical event that occurred on July 4, 1776? I would wager that a significant majority of Americans do not even know what independence day means, or why they are celebrating it. R.I.P. founding fathers.

The fireworks were nice, tho.

Thank you city of Tracy for a wonderful fireworks show. Although many things must be cut for economic reasons it is nice to see that this celebration was not. It is also good to see that there are still plenty of places to see the show from for free for those of us who cant really afford the cost of being right at the show.

While the fireworks show was great I have to express some disappointment at the parade. Did it have to be so damn commercial and political? I could live without the "floats" that were really nothing more than ads for political candidates and those that were nothing more than ads for businesses. Why not have floats themed on important events in American history, preferably with little to no commercialism? I get enough junk mail in my mailbox. I don't see any value in a parade that is just more of the same, especially on a day that is so much more significant than all of that stuff.
