The annual balloon launch from Lincoln Park kicked off the Fourth of July celebrations in Tracy on Sunday morning.

Early risers arrived at the park at 6 am to watch a half-dozen balloons rise from the park into the sunrise. Balloons drifted over the food booths and the hundreds of people gathered to watch them inflate.

Following the launch, the Tracy Breakfast Lions Club hosted an annual breakfast that included sausages, pancakes and juice or coffee to the line that stretched back for more than 100 people.

Tracy’s July Fourth festivities continue with an afternoon parade, a day of food and games in Lincoln Park and ends with the fireworks show Wayne Schneider Stadium.

My question is this, why did Tracy PD put out a press release stating that they would be charging parents caught lighting fireworks for their children with child endangerment? Really? honestly what is going on? Is the City so broke, that is has to go after it's own people for celebrating independence day??? such BS

So much for the city's theory about people going to church instead of the July 4th festivities.

This was nice. The breakfast by the Lions Club was great like always. Glad to see that it wasn't that windy this year and the balloons took off. I remember out of the last 10 years they only took off about 5 times now since they couldn't launch do to wind. I am looking forward to next years balloon launch and the Lions Club Breakfast.
