The Coalition of Tracy Citizens to Help the Homeless is sending out an urgent request for food donations.

Kathy Goddard, a member of the coalition, has fed the homeless on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays using money from the sale of her home. But that money has been used up, coalition members say, and money and food are needed to continue the work Goddard began.

“We are trying to locate churches, individuals, organizations, restaurants, markets or caterers that can donate or take on a day or more a month to feed the homeless,” co-founder Marvin Rothschild said. “In the meantime, we need food donations from members and their friends and neighbors to help feed the homeless now.”

The coalition will accept donations big and small, in the form of canned, fresh or frozen foods or cash, checks and money orders.

Those who wish to donate can call Rothschild at 914-5242.
