Country music returned to the Music in the park series as the Johnny Cash Tribute Band drew a crowd to the third concert series performance Thursday evening.

Lead singer James Garner sang a number of Johnny Cash hits including songs made famous in his Folsom Prison performance. Garner and his tribute band have also performed at the prison. Garner also told stories about Cash’s life and music career throughout the show.

The band played a number of Cash’s favorite songs from his train and Folsom songs. The concert series winds down with its second to last show next Thursday as Stompy Jones takes the stage for a vintage jazz and rhythm and blues show.

It's good to see such a good crowd. I worried this was one of the programs the City would cut given its "budget woes". Hopefully not.

Tracy Press,

You guys are getting fast. I just saw him at Lincoln Park less than a half hour ago. Good music!
