Sgt. Tony Sheneman said the two men were in a heated argument when one stabbed the other in the leg. The stabbing victim ran from the house, with the other man in pursuit, and banged on a neighbor’s door to ask for help.
The neighbor, an off-duty federal corrections officer, opened his door to find the bleeding man with the other running after him. The neighbor pulled out a gun and fired a shot in the air, which convinced the alleged assailant to give up the chase. He turned around to go back to the house right about the time a Tracy police officer arrived at the scene.
Police arrested Prince Anthony Barragan, 23, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, and booked him into San Joaquin County Jail where he awaits a Tuesday afternoon court hearing in Manteca.
The victim, identified as Gary Lee Boggs, 25, was taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital and treated for a non-life-threatening injury. Boggs also was booked into county jail after he was identified as the suspect in an armed robbery reported early Tuesday morning on the 700 block of Central Avenue. He also awaits a Tuesday afternoon court hearing in Manteca.
Sheneman said that the federal corrections officer was not charged or cited, but police did confiscate the gun. It was unclear if the weapon he used was his own or if it was a work-issued firearm.

"stop or I'll shoot", and if the perp advances on you with the knife, a double tap. two to the chest and one to the head. which saves on long term incarcerations.
Throw these guys back in Prison and let the Taxpayers take care of them. They don’t belong in our society acting like animals.
The people of Tracy don’t need to be putting up with these Thugs in our neighborhood’s I think the Criminal Judges and prosecutors’ need this type of situation to happen in their face before anything is done .
