A woman called police at 3:38 p.m. Tuesday and said that a man attacked her and her children at Bonfare Market, 15 E. Grant Line Road. He and a woman walked away toward the Center of Hope Church on Holly Drive, where he reportedly smashed the window of a white car in the church parking lot.

Police got another call at 4:51 p.m. reporting that the man and woman were sitting on the grass at an apartment complex on Portola Way. Police found them as they walked back toward the market, and officers arrested the man on suspicion of vandalism.

Police requested a full body wrap for the man after he reportedly kicked out the window of the patrol car. Jacob Ortega, 19, was taken to county jail and booked on suspicion of felony vandalism, resisting arrest and being drunk and disorderly.

Tracy police received 197 calls for service Tuesday, June 8. The following is a sample of those reports:

• 12:55 a.m.: A woman called police to report that the house next door was on fire, and she was afraid that her own house would catch fire. The Tracy Fire Department found the blaze was limited to a shed and a fence and put out the fire.

• 2:08 a.m.: A man at Seventh Street and Central Avenue reported that his ex-brother-in-law had just robbed him at gunpoint before leaving in a gold Pontiac with a woman driving. The caller was going to loan the other man some money when the man attacked him and took $150. Police checked out hotels and other places the assailant was likely to be, but did not find him.

• 9:13 a.m.: Stockton police informed Tracy police that a gray Honda Civic that had been stolen from Cabana Lane in Tracy on Sunday night turned up in Stockton. The car was not damaged.

• 1:07 p.m.: Two men who were shooting rabbits with pellet guns near some warehouses at Chrisman and Grant Line roads caught someone breaking into cars. Police arrived and caught the suspected burglar, a 15-year-old boy. He was arrested on suspicion of auto theft in relation to the white Ford van he drove, which had just been reported stolen from St. Bernard’s Catholic Church on Eaton Avenue.

• 4:06 p.m.: A clerk at Sunset Liquors on the 2300 block of Parker Avenue reported that a woman was trying to cash a check from a closed bank. The 22-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of trying to pass a counterfeit check.

• 7:24 p.m.: Emergency crews went to Grant Line and Lammers roads for a report of a car crash with injuries. A woman with chest pains was taken away in an ambulance, and her car had to be towed away.

• 10:12 p.m.: A woman on the 400 block of DeBord Drive reported that she came home to find her house ransacked. Police took a report.

• The previous was a sample taken from the Tracy Police Department daily log. Charges may have been added or dropped as of publication time, and all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Hey, did it maybe come to mind that Ortega is a "Portuguese" last name?

My guess is someone at this very hour maybe having

a liquidation sale in the Bonfare Market parking lot or perhaps connected to some-sort-of Home Shopping network?

How stupid can a robber be. Your victim knows who you are, did they really think they could get away with it ?

Once they catch them at least they won't waste any time with a line up to identify them.
