Had I done that, father would have hit me with a 2 x 4 in one or two sensitive areas. On the other hand, my mind didn't head in that general direction in my youth. I had public school, church, good friends, two or three crushes, a bicycle, a church organ and a trombone. There were the Boy Scouts, football, tennis and of course family events.
What our youth occasionally is missing out on is family involvement. What they have instead, especially during the summer, is a lot of time on their hands. The Devil dances with those who make room on their dance card.
Myself, I'm going to be making cookies and cup cakes for some Lutheran kids for their VBS. It's time to stop constantly leaning on others, especially our women, and just do the word ourselves. If we lead by example, junk like this, as funny as it is, just doesn't happen any more.

What is a rock, an engine block, and the old '60's version;
Meeting the parents, a respectable
dinner, then going to Filmore or the Winterland and (for the first time) seeing Janis Joplin, Paul Butterfield, James Cotton, and returning home before 3:am. and having the (mom's & pop's) 2nd car)... saying... "goodnight" to your High School "sweetheart.!"
