EDITOR,

Your recent story (“Congressional candidate suggests ‘hunting permits’ for ‘liberals,” May 12 Tracy Press) concerning Brad Goehring’s suggestion: “If I could issue hunting permits, I would declare today opening day for liberals. …” goes right along with Sarah Palin’s statement, “Don’t retreat — reload.”

America is a great country. We must not allow people with these radical ideas about shooting their opponents to take us over.

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of his country. If taking up arms is what it takes to get the government to listen then so be it. This country started with a revolution and maybe it's time to rethink politics again.

Dude, the radicals have already began, William Ayers, Reverand Wright. Obama spent more time on Boxers fund raiser and other appointments rather that take charge of the oil leak thus, making a stronger case for his stop drilling plan. Then, he lets the mexican president take a center stage telling US how screwed up our immegration laws are (standing ovation) and mexico has one of the worst immegration laws of all. Then, stand with Paul McCartney while being distrespectful on TV about George Bush. Obama appologizes for America and lets others spit on our land and former presidents. 2012 HURRY UP !!!

Again, one is speechless with the last comment. Mistakes happen, To live in a world without mistakes is Utopian. We need oil, gas, coal, nuclear energy to run our economy. If it could be done otherwise for less money, then someone in the world would have invented the technology. Please, if the earth worshipers have a better alternative that has been proven to work, share it with us.

And 'Drill, Baby, Drill!' isn't what Palin meant. 'Spill, Baby, Spill!' were the words she was looking for.

Wake up, Jim. The real radicals are in the White House. Unfortunately, their "radical ideas" are not harmless hyperbole, as shurban correctly identified, but rather they are becoming policy and are being implemented against the will of the American people.

If this writer cannot see the use of hyperbole and that the suggestion is not to taken literally but figuratively, one hardly knows what to say. I can see why Jim Dameron is a liberal. Jim it's just an expression. I hope if someone makes a statement like," Go jump in the lake." you realize that person is only saying to go away and not really jump in a lake.
