Justin Philpott, driving his No. 05 car, started second and finished fourth in the Western Late Models race. Later that night, Philpott was involved in a crash on Lap 22 with Danville’s Tim Spurgeon, between turns three and four, the only time the caution flag dropped in the second race.
While Philpott’s car was banged up, his cousin, Ryan Philpott, finished the race fifth.
