A recent letter to the editor espoused the good points of the recent health care reform bill passed by Congress.
For the most part, I have to agree with the writer, as it is a known fact that the previous health care system in this country was broken. But on one point the writer made — that illegal immigrants should be included in this package — I have to vehemently disagree.
Why should the American taxpayer have to pay for the illegals’ health care, too? They are already getting government subsidies for housing, education and God only knows what else is being handed to them on a silver platter.
We have hundreds of thousands of American citizens in this country who are homeless, destitute, hungry and out of work, and they have to beg on the street just to survive, and yet the illegals are told come on, we have plenty for you and a warm place to sleep.
Somehow, there just seems to be something wrong with that picture.

The degree of financially broke is irrelevant anymore.
