Thank you to those concerned for thinking of the people in passing the health reform legislation.

A government that sets into motion the idea that it is willing and able to cater to the genuine needs of its people is a welcome change.

It is hoped that those concerned will not only ensure that health care is available to all who need it, but also that the quality of health care is not compromised in the process. America can do both — yes we can and yes we should.

Health reform is a most welcome change we want to believe in.

Captain Nose Condom, it should have read,

"We the minority cramed down this issue and the GOP and Con Wing Nuts are showing the highest form of patriotism."

The MAJORITY is dissenting.

"... yet mandatory health insurance isn't. Where were these Outstanding Conservatives of Record when California decided to force drivers to be responsible?"

Apples to Oranges.

Claiming our best interest, what's next for Govt required purchase?

Not a valid argument. Auto insurance is only required for your liability and the harm you do to others. You are not required to cover your own car, the damage you do to your self. Also, auto insurance does not cover service.

As for the FDA, EPA and all the other bureaucratic government agencies, we would be far better off without them. While their original intent was very admirable they have morphed into mismanaged failures.

You're so called welcomed change is unpopular in the USA. Or, haven't you noticed what we the people have been saying. Several states are now saying We'll see about that, and, we'll see you in court! Obama is a crook, the end justifys the means, thats not the american way.

I find it odd that some of my fellow citizens think that mandatory auto insurance is fine and dandy, yet mandatory health insurance isn't. Where were these Outstanding Conservatives of Record when California decided to force drivers to be responsible? Where were these Paragons of Most Fine Virtue when mandatory seat belt legislation was enacted? Wasn't this at least a restriction of one's rights? For that matter, when I met the lunatic "Motorcycle Mike" at the State GOP convention in San Diego (where he was summarily thrown out, I'll have you know) where were you?

But wait, good Men of Conscious that you are and Defenders of the Faith, where were you when the FDA was enacted? Wasn't that unconstitutional as well? For that matter, where were you when liberals like me insisted on labeling of foods, fighting the Good Men of Business every step of the way? And for that matter, when various species were rapidly becoming extinct under your hero Nixon's reign and he happily created the EPA, where were you?

Sheesh.

Health care is very complex, considering it makes up 1/6th of our economy.

The issue was not whether we needed health care reform, but how.

I concur that in one of the wealthiest nations in the world, no one should be refused from emergency services, or basic services that ensure a right of survival. But that said, this sham of a health care bill, will take years to correct.

Is it Constitutionally legal to force everyone to have 'health insurance'. What if I'm a young student at Davis and would rather spend that 750 dollars on a computer or entertainment gizmo? What if I rather pay down my school debt?

I will do everything in my power to ensure the likes of Jerry McNerney, are not sent back to Washington, DC after the next election. His performance has been dismal at best. This man represents us, and doesn't have the fortitude to hold honest and forthright discussions with his represented.

Anyone that believes this health care bill is the answer is sadly mistaken.

It does nothing to ensure the poor and needy in Tracy, get health care. But for the next four years while the funds grow, it does ensure that every person in Tracy, no exceptions, will pay increased taxes, or 'fees'.

We've allowed the Federal Government, the opportunities to:

1) Mismanage Social Security,

2) Mismanage the Post Office

3) Mismanage the IRS

4) Mismanage Public Education,

so in this line of thinking we might as well let them mismanage our health care.

As far as I'm concerned, Jerry McNerney, Diane Feinstein, Barbara (I will be addressed as a Senator) Boxer, Representative Pelosi, will get their just rewards during the next election cycle, and can join the 20% unemployed in our district.

Sincerely ... Jim DeHart, Tracy

"...Health reform is a most welcome change we want to believe in."

Good, we can add to that to the list of things we want to believe in;

a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow

a unicorn

a free lunch

world peace

debt doesn't matter

the president and vice president are intelligent

congress has the highest approval rating ever

the majority will support Obamacare once they find out what's in it
