There will be demonstrations on fruit-tree pruning and how to fertilize plants, as well as discussions on how to get soil rich, control disease and pests and set up watering systems.
Vegetable snacks and popcorn will be provided, as well as coloring activities for the kids.
In the past, about 300 people have attended the festival, and organizers expect another great turnout.
The demonstrations and discussions will be given by Brian Bassett, who has 17 years of experience in the nursery; Breege Mondragon, who is a lifetime avid gardener; and Tracy Amador, Laurie Costello and Shaun Kelly.

News Briefs A cultural experience at the Grand
The Tracy African American Association and the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts will host a show today at the theater, 715 Central Ave.
At 5:30 p.m., there will be an association-hosted fashion show. At 6:30, members of the Soweto Gospel Choir will have a meet-and-greet. These events are free. The choir will then perform at 8 p.m. at the Eleni Tsakopoulos-Kounalakis Theatre.
Tickets for the performance are $25.50 for orchestra seating and $21.25 for balcony.

San Joaquin Delta College will break ground on the new Math and Science Center from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the college’s C6 parking lot, 5151 Pacific Ave., in Stockton. Construction should take three years.

On April 17, Tracy will celebrate Give a Day, Get a Day, in which 60 volunteers will clean up city parks in exchange for a free ticket to Disneyland.

The Tracy Learning Center will show its first kindergarten-though-12th-grade musical, “Oliver,” on April 22 through 25. The performance will start at 7 p.m. for the first three days and 2 p.m. for the other two.
Tickets for seniors, students and children will be $7, and $10 for general admission. The play will be at the school’s gymnasium, 51 E. Beverly Place.

The Tracy Alumni Club will host its 19th annual tri-tip dinner April 24 at the Tracy Community Center, 950 East St.

The Tracy Performing Arts Foundation will host a sing-along night from 5 to 7 p.m. April 25 at the Jazz Café, 809 Central Ave. Everyone attending will receive a song book with lyrics so they can sing along with John Scott on guitar and John Sheehan at the piano.
