EDITOR,

Congressman McNerney, you could have just put this reform bill on the back-burner like a lot of other representatives hoping to get re-elected without making waves, but instead you made sure you did what was right.

I have been steadily employed now for more than 30 years as a blue-collar, middle-class American and have paid for my health care for all those years. I have been blessed for all those years without getting any major illness and don’t even want to think about what would have happened if I didn’t have it.

I am only optimistic that this reform bill will lower my health care costs, but totally confident that I will not see the usual 10 percent to 20 percent increases we have all seen the past nine years. Something needed to be done, and you stood up and did it. I thank you.

I ain't really got a beef with my brothers down under but when it comes ta anyone of em tellin anyone in th US how a government should be run I'd like ta respond with her recent histories involvin yer "rabbit proof fences" an yer successes involvin gun control in yer country.

When ya can demonstrate those successes as well as a host of others then perhaps yer fit enough ta start givin other nations advice on how ha run a country. Until then I humbly suggest ya don't embarrass yerselves any further an tend ta th problems in yer own country rather than tellin others how ta do it.

An from what I know of the Australian health care system it ain't all that better or worse than anyone else.

I kind of agree with sg88 here in that if it was all that good thair, why on earth did ya leave?

Ya wrote, "Don't forget that the 32 million Americans who will by 2014 be finally covered . . ."

Don't ya mean 50 million? That was th number our president jus manufactured ta th nation Friday when he said, ""Number one is that we are the only -- we have been, up until last week, the only advanced country that allows 50 million of its citizens to not have any health insurance . . ."

Ya can tell he wasn't usin his teleprompter fer th answers because of his stammerin an studderin as he proffered these scripted numbers ta th listenin audience.

So, what's th real number? It must be important cus they are always usin it to justify their act. The problem I have with it is that it seems ta be constantly changin, somewhat akin ta th promises made that seem to continually be broken.

Frankly, I'm not impressed by any of them on either side of th fence an intend to vote against all of em this coming election. This "wait and see how it will turn out," attitude they all seem to be mouthin just ain't cuttin th mustard.

Of course, Blue Cross Health Insurance Company, which wanted to raise premiums on writers like me up to 40 per cent are never part of the problem, are they? Naturally, health insurance companies, which will make out like bandits thanks to this legislation, are not crying foul. The only solution to any of this is turning to a single payer public option, and allowing Blue Cross and other underperforming companies to, well, you know, actually perform as if we matter.

When I lived in Australia, one was covered by the public option, but if you were middle class or above, you could always buy more coveraged. Nations such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand and others just shake their heads and laugh at us.

No, while this reform was hardly enough, half a loaf is better than none. Don't forget that the 32 million Americans who will by 2014 be finally covered in the meantime will undoubtedly crowd into the ER's until then. The lag time is much too long.

Naturally, you conservatives care for the children who have pre-existing conditions, as I know many of you. None of you are that heartless.

There is much to admire about this compromise.

Well done, Rep. McNerney.

You're a fool if you think Jerry's vote had anything to do with YOU or any of US.

I for one, cannot wait to cast a vote against this liberal puppet.

Our family also wants to thank our fine Congressman Jerry McNerney for his yes vote on Health Care Reform. It was the right vote for us our district and for America. Again we see Jerry as a strong supporter of issues important to us all. We have always counted on the strong support and leadership of Jerry for our soldiers, veterans and families. Thank you Jerry McNerney.

EDITOR,

"...I am only optimistic that this reform bill will lower my health care costs, but totally confident that I will not see the usual 10 percent to 20 percent increases we have all seen the past nine years."

Was there a special lunacy convention held the majority of us were unaware of? The latest round of ObamaCare letter writers hope the health care bill is everything they wish it to be (more services, less money) while ignoring basic laws of supply and demand.

Mr. McNerney's prior business acumen shapes his current thinking.

Why are the profoundly ignorant people running the country?
