Monday night, the four Republican candidates hoping to challenge Rep. Jerry McNerney in November’s congressional election are expected to meet with the public in Stockton.

The four will appear on the June primary ballot to determine which one will represent the GOP in the general election.

McNerney, D-Pleasanton, is a four-year incumbent and the lone Democrat running for the 11th District seat.

The Republican Party of San Joaquin County and Delta College Republicans will sponsor the debate at San Joaquin Delta College.

Antonio “Tony” Amador of Lodi, Brad Goehring of Clements, David Harmer of Pleasanton and Elizabeth Emken from Danville are the Republican candidates.

Tracy resident David Christensen is planning to run under the banner of the American Independent Party.
