Dublin-based DeSilva Gates Construction began the $6.7 million road revamp in September, and crews work from about 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
The road is down to one lane of traffic in each direction, which slows travelers, said assistant city engineer Paul Verma said. All four lanes will open when construction finishes.
The city is repaving Grant Line Road from Parker Avenue to MacArthur Drive and also replacing the underground pipes, Verma said.
“It’s a major arterial street, and the infrastructure’s old,” Verma said. “When you reconstruct, it’s best to replace all the underground utilities so you don’t tear up the road over again.”

Sure it's a pain, but it's long overdue and once everything is completed everyone will enjoy and benefit from the needed improvements and forget the delays of today for the many better tomorrows.
I drive this road every day, twice each way, taking my daughter to/from school and it used to take 10 minutes each way, now it takes at least 20 minutes from Banta to West High.
Whoever hired this company must be getting a good kickback,,,
