The 11-2 win came with 11 hits for the Wolf Pack, while pitcher Andi Andersen held the Buffaloes to four hits.
Junior Allison Noble, West’s top hitter for the year so far with five base hits in seven at-bats, went 3-for-4 on Tuesday with two doubles and three runs batted in. Also leading West at the plate were Elida Rubio and Jamie Costa with two hits each — both had RBIs, and Costa belted a double.
West had a 5-0 lead going into the fifth inning when Costa, Ashley Cox and Noble connected for three base hits in a row to get a six-run rally started. West also had a good day in the field, with no errors charged to the defense.
Sophomores: West 5, Manteca 0
West High brought its record to 4-2 for the season with a pre-league win on the road over Manteca High on Tuesday. Brittney Calmes pitched all seven innings for West, allowed three hits and struck out seven batters.
Her backup at the plate included Corrinna Gutierrez, who went 3-for-3, including a double. Julia Ramirez had two base hits, and Jocelyn Lee and Jalissa Sims also had base hits.
Freshmen: Tracy 13, Los Banos 3
Tracy rode nine base hits to a win against Los Banos on Tuesday at the Tracy Sports Complex.
Shelby Perry had two base hits, and Courtney Eddy, Hayley Davis and Elise Escobar all doubled. Perry got the win, pitching five innings as she struck out five, allowed one hit, and walked seven batters.
The win puts Tracy at 5-1 for the season.
Varsity: Calaveras 5, Tracy 0
Tracy’s bats went cold in the second game of the Ted Yoneda Tournament in Stockton on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs committed four errors in the field to give the Redskins from Calaveras High a chance to score consistently for a 5-0 win.
Stephanie Fisher got two of Tracy’s three hits, including a double, and Rebecca Titus got the other. Fisher pitched six innings and gave up seven hits.
Varsity: St. Mary’s 4, Tracy 3
Saturday at the Ted Yoneda Tournament in Stockton started with the host team, St. Mary’s, taking a 4-3 win over Tracy.
The Rams scored one in the first inning and took a 4-0 lead in the fifth. Tracy started to make a comeback in the bottom of the fifth, as Stephanie Fisher drove in three runs. She went 2-for-3 for the day, including a double. Taylor Martinez pitched six innings for Tracy and gave up five hits.
Millennium at Hilmar Tournament
The Falcon girls went 1-2 this past weekend at the Hilmar Tournament. Millennium opened with an 8-0 loss to the host team, Hilmar High, on Friday, and lost 11-6 on Saturday morning to Riverbank.
The Falcons then logged a win Saturday afternoon, 10-0 over Denair.
Millennium’s Melissa Vierra threw her first no-hitter of the season, and her team backed her up with a big day at the plate. Paige Fernandez hit a double and drove in two runs to make the all-tournament team. Also hitting for Millennium in the third game were Shawni Carpenter and Nicole Ochoa with three hits each; Jaylyn Gutierrez and Shyan Carpenter with two hits each; and Melissa Vierra, Tiffany Chacon, Jaelyn Woods and Kelsea Eakin with base hits.
Sophomores: West 5, East Union 0
The Wolf Pack closed the East Union Tournament in first place in their bracket with a win over the host team, going 3-1 for the tournament. West also beat Los Banos 5-1 and Tracy 10-0 on Thursday, and then lost one to Kimball on Saturday morning. All-tournament players for West were Julia Ramirez, Casey Kota and Jalissa Sims.
Sophomores: Los Banos 4, Kimball 1
Kimball pitcher Marissa Greenhaw held the Tigers to four hits, but four errors in the third inning allowed Los Banos to score four unearned runs in Kimball’s last game of the East Union Tournament. Kylie Greenup had two base hits for the Jaguars, Kate Bomar drove in a run and stole a base, and Anisha Richardson and Katie Hanville also had base hits.
It puts the Jaguars at 2-2 for the season, and Richardson, Hanville and Greenhaw were all named to the all-tournament team.
Sophomores: Tracy 3, East Union 0
Tracy finished the East Union Tournament 2-2 on Saturday with a win over the host team. Brianna Warter got the win for Tracy as she pitched five innings, struck out four and allowed four hits. Loren Saenz got two base hits and drove in two runs. Monique Stevenson and Macie Southerland also got base hits, and Stevenson had an RBI.
Sophomores: Kimball 6, West 4
West High’s girls took an early lead Saturday in the East Union Tournament with back to back singles and a triple in their first three at bats with for a three-run lead in the bottom of the first. Kimball answered with two-out, three-run rally in the second, scored two more in the third and another in the fourth for the win. Katie Hanville pitched four innings for the Jaguars and logged five strikeouts. Anisha Richardson drove in a run for the Jaguars with a triple to deep left in the third, and Kylie Greenup, Breana Reyes and Kate Bomar also drove in runs for Kimball, and Marissa Greenhaw and Hanville also had base hits.
Sophomores: Los Banos 6, Tracy 1
Tracy’s girls went into Saturday’s East Union Tournament games with the bare minimum of nine players, and ended up with a loss to Los Banos in the first game of the day. Macie Southerland pitched for Tracy and took the loss, and the Bulldogs got their hits, but couldn’t drive in the runs, twice leaving the bases loaded. Top hitter for Tracy was Sarah Zuelke, who went two-for-two. Taylor Burnley, Courtney Rinnert, Olivia Perea and Celina Marlin all had base hits, and Ari Grimes batted in Tracy’s only run.
Freshmen: Sierra 4, Tracy 0
In their last game of the East Union Tournament Tracy’s girls took a 4-0 loss to Sierra High of Manteca. Julia Fernandez pitched for Tracy and had a good day on the mound with nine strikouts, but walks and errors ended up costing Tracy. Leading Tracy at the plate were Elise Escobar with two hits, Karsi Fyfe with a double and Shelby Perry with a base hit. Fernandez, Escobar and Courtney Eddy were all named to the all-tournament team.
Freshmen: Tracy 9, San Ramon 1
Tracy’s girls won their third game of the East Union Tournament Saturday in Manteca, 9-1 over San Ramon High. Shelby Perry pitched four innings with no base hits for San Ramon, and struck out four batters and walked four. Courtney Eddy went three-for-three for the day, including a double, a tripled with one run batted-in. Karsi Fyfe knocked in three runs with a triple, Elise Escobar drove in two with a double and Angela Mariani also hit a triple to drive in a run.
Varsity: Tracy 6, Armijo 2
Tracy High’s softball team made it to the championship bracket in the Ted Yoneda Tournament, hosted by St. Mary’s High at Arnaiz Fields in Stockton Friday, with a pair of wins in pool play Friday.
In the second game of the day Tracy’s Stephanie Fisher pitched seven innings and allowed two hits for Armijo while striking out 11 batters.
Tracy had 10 hits for the day. Fisher hit two doubles, Christine Lozano hit a double and a triple, Brianna Aldridge hit a double and Rebecca Titus also had two base hits.
Varsity: Tracy 12, Edison 4
Tracy pitcher Taylor Martinez allowed two hits over five inning to take a win in the Lady Bulldogs’ first game of the season in the Ted Yoneda Tournament.
Tracy collected 16 hits, including two doubles and a single from Stephanie Fisher, a double and two singles from Rebecca Titus. They each drove in runs, and Martinez also drove in two runs and had two base hits, Christine Lozano had two hits and drove in one, and Piper Johnson had a double and a single.
