Jose Reymundo Jimenez, 21, and Ernesto Daniel Lozano-Mejia, 18, both of Tracy, were taken into custody, along with 18-year-old Livermore resident Luis Morales. The three may face charges of possessing a loaded gun, animal cruelty and discharging a firearm in a negligent manner, according to Livermore police.
Cops confiscated a 9 mm Glock pistol, which at least one of the suspects said they were test-firing when they drove by a Livermore pasture in an SUV. Police stopped the men at gunpoint late in the morning Feb. 20 after a call about the apparent drive-by from a concerned onlooker.
Two other people — a 17-year-old and another 18-year-old — were let go, according to Livermore police. It wasn’t until a day later that the property owner found the dead cow, and a week or so after that, police took the men into custody.
The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has yet to file charges. Jimenez is due to appear in court April 1, and Morales and Lozano-Mejia are scheduled for arraignment March 23.

Just because someone shoots a gun doesn't mean they're in a gang. They possibly could have been Silicon Valley Geeks who finally got the nerdy guts to buy a gun and went OUT TO THE COUNTRY and not down Central Ave to shoot the gun.
Just because a gun was involved doesn't mean you have to be in a gang. I have a gun and I'm not a gang member. I've never shot an animal but maybe these guys were just knuckleheads and didn't think a 9mm could kill a cow.
Don't make owning a gun sound bad because of a couple of dumb people.
