A group of Tracy soccer players will be in today’s semifinals for the California Youth Soccer Association Cal North State Cup in Morgan Hill.

Abby Dyer, Victoria Garza, Michelle Hagelston, Taylor Hopkins, Taylah Nusser and Samatha Reich are members of the Livermore Elite Venom Soccer Club under-13 girls team, one of 52 teams entered in the tournament.

The Venom are 4-0-1 in the tournament, beating Pleasanton Rage, 2-0, and Orchard Valley, 1-0, on Jan. 30. They then played to a 1-1 tie against Foothill Extreme on Jan. 31. They next beat Redwood Union, 4-0, and the Walnut Creek Dynamos, 1-0, on Jan. 6 to make it to the final four.

The Venom will take on the Danville Mustang Mavericks today, and the winner of that game will play in the championship Sunday against the winner of today’s Elk Grove Everton vs. Santa Rosa Blizzard matchup.

TFC team wins in debut

The Tracy Futbol Club’s Blaze under-11 girls played their first indoor soccer game Monday at Cabernet Indoor Sports arena in Livermore. The Blaze took a 16-5 win as they scored nine goals in the first half and seven in the second half.

Maghan Perry and Karina Rodriguez each scored three goals for the Blaze, and Anjelica Gonzalez and Meghan Johnson each scored two. Also scoring goals for the Blaze were Ellie Schreppel, Sam Serrato, Alissa Gallher, Brittani Edwards, Madison Sanders and Giana Jong.

Goalie for the first half was Sanders, and Gallher was the Blaze’s keeper for the second half.
