The Tracy Educational Excellence Foundation later this month will sponsor its second annual Tracy’s Got Talent fundraiser that tests the skills of local performers.

The foundation is a nonprofit group that helps local schools get grants for supplies and projects for classrooms.

Contestants showcase their talents whether it’s singing, dancing, or other talents. Each contestant will go through auditions and approximately 15 finalists will be given the opportunity to appear in the showcase Grand Theatre Center for the Arts. The winner of the Grand Theatre showcase will receive a trophy.

Auditions will be held on three separate dates at three separate locations. Auditions will start at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 23 at George Kelly School, 535 Mabel Josephine Drive; Feb. 24 at Poet Christian, 1701 Central Ave.; and Feb. 25 at Jacobson Elementary School, 1750 W. Kavanagh Ave. The finals will be held at 7 p.m. March 20 at the Grand Theatre, 715 Central Ave.

Prices for auditions will range from between $20 to $40, depending if the contestant decides to perform solo or in a group. Solo acts are charged $20, groups of two of three performers are charged $30, and the cost for four of more people is $40.

Each contestant is given the chance to get $5 off the register fee if they sign up before Feb.18 at the Web site, TracyGotTalent@gmail.com.

Tickets for the Grand Theatre showcase will be $13.

City government will be there as a group to perform their version of "Imagine" as it relates to the bus(t) station. Here are a few lines...

Imagine all the people

It isn't hard to do

Using the empty bus station

Only to use the loo

Imagine all the people

Standing on the floors

Ah hah you too

You can call Ives a dreamer

And he's not the only one

There are several more on the council

That voted to got this building done
