Elizabeth took first place all-around with a score of 36.05. Her individual event scores were: vault, seventh, 8.425; bars, first, 9.5; beam, first, 9.25; floor exercise, third, 8.875.
Alicia was also first in her session, with an all-around score of 36.975 and individual event scores of 8.875 on vault, first; 9.25 on bars, third; 9.55 on beam, first; and 9.3 on the floor exercise, second.
Cougars take win in NorCal league
The California Cougars Girls under-15 team defeated Cal Rush Nike, 2-1, over the weekend in NorCal Fall League play in Sacramento.
Lauren Frizzi and Fionna Kennedy scored the Cougars’ goals on assists by Grace Cabri and Lana Pineo.
With the win, the Cougars advanced to the NorCal Premier Fall league playoffs, which will be Feb. 6 in Davis.
The team will conclude NorCal Premier State Cup competition this weekend with a match against Ajax United.
Three chosen for soccer camp
The NorCal Premier Soccer Player Development Program chose three Tracy players for a chance to attend its regional training camp, which will give boys playing on under-12 teams exposure to college, U.S. and international teams and players.
Lorenzo Gonzalez and Jonathan Marin of the Tracy Futbol Club Lyones and Govinder Somal of the TFC Warriors were selected during Jan. 11 tryouts in Manteca’s Woodward Park. They will be part of the regional team that will play other regional teams throughout Northern California.
Local alumna helps Aggies to win
West High graduate Michele Hurlock, Class of 2007, contributed to another team win for the U.C. Davis women’s gymnastics team.
The Aggies came in first, with an overall team score of 191.525, against teams from California State University, Sacramento, and Seattle Pacific University. It was the Aggies’ first win at Sacramento since 2002.
Hurlock contributed scores of 9.625 on the vault, a tie for third place; and 8.800 on the uneven parallel bars, good for 18th place.
