Ralph Alonzo, a senior maintenance worker with the Tracy Parks and Community Services Department, was named the Employee of the Month for January by the city.

Alonzo, born in Modesto, has worked for Tracy since 2001.

He works in the airport and transit divisions of the parks department. His responsibilities include maintaining the aviation fuel facility and runway and taxiway lighting systems at Tracy Municipal Airport.

Outside of work, Alonzo is the secretary and director of an Oakdale-based nonprofit youth baseball organization, where he also coaches.

Alonzo also earned employee of the month honors in 2003.
