Tracy won 11 of 14 matches, including five by pin, three by decision, two by forfeit and one by injury default.
Tracy wrestlers to win their matches by pin included: Danny Hutchinson (140 pounds) pinned Gustavo Zetter in the second round; Travis Couch (145) pinned Jess Soto in the first round; Kendrick Bergman (152) pinned Amanda Lopez in the first round; Dylan Smith (160) pinned Wyatt Baron in the first round; and Andrew Ahwal (215) pinned Anthony Macias in the first round.
Tracy wrestlers to win by decision were: Jacob Koster (119) beat Michael Cruz, 10-8; Austin Shankel (125) beat Bee Yang, 16-6; and Daniel Nunes (130) beat Evan Villalobos, 8-0.
Tracy wrestlers to lose their matches were: Bishop Nguyen (112) lost, 9-15; Josh Williams (135) was pinned by Francisco Guiao in the second round; and Oscar Gerstenberger (171) lost to Andrew Gemigniani, 4-11.
The Bulldogs also won the junior varsity dual match 42-15 in a meeting that had only two contests. Tracy won 11 of its matches, including 10 by forfeit, and Franklin won three matches, including two by forfeit. Tracy’s Christian Lowe pinned his opponent in the first round of the 140-pound class, and Josh Gomez lost to his Franklin opponents by decision in overtime in the 125-pound class.
Tracy wrestlers face another league rival, the Trojans from Lincoln High, at home Tuesday night.
Kimball 34, Edison 24
Kimball High’s wrestlers won their first league dual match Tuesday when they went on the road to Edison High for a 34-24 win.
Kimball won six matches, Edison won four, and four more were double forfeits.
Two Kimball wrestlers won by pin, including Jemmil Wantan in the 112-pound class and Josue Pagarito in the 119-pound class. Gabriel Hernandez went all three rounds against one of Edison’s varsity wrestlers in the 135-pound class and won by a major decision.
Edison’s wins included two by pin over Kimball’s Edgar Ruiz (140) and Marco Tello (160), and two by forfeit.
Kimball’s team wrestles again Tuesday at home against McNair.
