Tracy Learning Center fundraiser
This month’s Wacky Wallet Wednesday fundraiser will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar, 3060 Naglee Road.
Applebee’s will give 20 percent of all food sales to the Tracy Learning Center.

African American Association meets
The Tracy African American Association will swear in a new set of officers at its next meeting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at North School, 2875 Holly Drive.
City Manager Leon Churchill will officiate the swearing-in ceremony.

Chess tournament for kids
There will be a Tracy Youth Chess Tournament at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Freiler Elementary School, 2421 W. Lowell Ave.
Players can pay $10 to register from 5 to 5:45 p.m., and children will compete in sections of four players, equal in age, grade and ability. All girls and boys through high school age are welcome.

Fitness boot camp
Tracy is offering residents a way to get in shape after eating all those holiday goodies.
The city will have a healthy fit boot camp starting at 5:30 a.m. Monday at the Tracy Community Center. The class will meet Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays for five weeks. The boot camp costs $219.

The first of 15 weeks of quilting classes put on by the Tracy Adult School and taught by Pat Marchini will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Room P-11 at West High School, 1775 W. Lowell Ave.
The cost of the class is $75, and returning students will be reimbursed $15. If fewer than 25 people sign up for the class, it will be canceled.

Workshop for siblings
The Family Resource Network will present “Sibshop,” an informal meeting of siblings ages 7 through 14 that provides recreational activities and learning opportunities from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Valley Community Baptist Church, 903 S. Home Society meets
The Tracy Auxiliary of the Children’s Home Society will serve homemade minestrone soup and Caesar salad at a dinner scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Tracy Moose Lodge, 35 E. Sixth St.
The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Take-out dinners are available.

Crab feed dinner
The West High girls softball team, with help from Get Real Behind the Wheel, will have its 10th annual crab feed dinner and dance at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at Portuguese Hall, 430 W. Ninth St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and there will also be a 50-50 raffle and live and silent auctions.
The Penetrators Groove Band will perform from 9 p.m. to midnight.
Tickets are $40 per person.

The Tracy Chamber of Commerce is looking for sponsors for its 2010 Winter Gala, scheduled for Feb. 5 at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts, 715 Central Ave.
The gala is a formal event at which the chamber recognizes people in the community for their accomplishments.
