A woman at Raley’s, 2550 S. Tracy Blvd., called police at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday to report that she bought a cell phone on Craigslist.org, but when she went to activate the phone, a Verizon employee told her it was stolen.

The caller said she talked to the phone’s previous owner, who said it was stolen in October from Tracy High School.

The caller said she would try to identify the person who sold her the phone from photos in a yearbook.

The Tracy Police Department received 156 calls for service Wednesday. The following is a sample of those calls. To read more, visit www.tracypress.com.

12:17 p.m.: A caller said eight guys appeared to be trying to force someone into a van at McDonald’s, 1820 W. 11th St. Police said some of the guys worked at McDonald’s and at least a couple got into a fight. One man had a small cut under his eye, but no one wanted to press charges.

12:41 p.m.: Police arrested a 53-year-old man who had an outstanding $20,000 warrant after a caller reported he broke into her dead mother’s home. The man called a locksmith and got inside the house with a couple of friends, but the caller said she and her family didn’t want him there. The man started to have trouble breathing and was taken to the hospital.

1:44 p.m.: Two handguns were stolen from a home on the 1700 block of Egret Drive, a man told police. He said he returned home to find the place had been burglarized, and he was missing an SIG 9-mm and a .45-caliber Colt semiautomatic.

2:05 p.m.: A guy named “Mario” threatened to take a car back that he sold unless a caller on the 1600 block of Wall Street paid another $600, police were told. The caller said Mario went to his home and threatened him, and he didn’t owe another $600.

You can actually read the correct PD logs by going to the PD. Tracy Press reports 36 minutes to respond. The log at the front desk says 13. Less time to eat donuts.

response time depends on the situation - fighting, not on the top prioriry list (continue eating donuts); shooting or with the use of weapons, on top - respond immediately (drop the donut, jump in the car/motorcycle, forget wiping those powdered sugar from mouth).....

btw, responding after 30 minutes, nobody to arrest, less job,......

Like I said in my post days ago. Tracy PD could use a few lessons from San Jose. San Jose PD would have been on that in less than 3 minutes, and they would have came with 6 to 10 units.

Sorry Tracy PD, just from my personal observation.
