Representatives from local congressman’s office will stop by Tracy on Friday to answer questions from senior citizens about Medicare and Social Security, among others.

Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, will have members from his staff in town from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday at the Lolly Hansen Senior Center, 375 Ninth St.

McNerney’s spokeswoman, Sarah Hersh, said in a press release that the staff members will be at the senior center with representatives from Medicare, Social Security and the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program. They’ll help seniors with any concerns they may have regarding obtaining Medicare and Social Security benefits.

The visit to the senior center falls during Medicare’s open enrollment period, which ends Dec. 31. Until then, seniors can enroll in Medicare or change their prescription drug plan and select a health plan for the upcoming year.
