Tracy Police and Fire departments investigated a solo car rollover on Joe Pombo Parkway that sent the driver to a local hospital at about 2:30 p.m. today.

The driver of the Nissan Altima was heading west on Joe Pombo Parkway when it veered across the roadway, striking the curb, hitting two trees and flipping over on a speed-limit sign. The driver was taken by ambulance to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital for minor injuries.

Police are investigating the crash and suspects the driver was speeding. No other cars or pedestrians were injured.

so now we know this F'n 17 yr old PUNK KID was doing 75-80 MPH in a 35 right after he got his license. It should be revoked for 10 yrs as punishment not 4(till he's 21).. and PAPAJOE... if I do see him and I know who he is.. I WILL POINT him out to anyone around and what he did. It is not against the law, not at all. Freedom of Speech, 1st amendment. So I believe you can close the a** you are talking out of and apologize to anyone here besides me you have offended, by defending a punk who was out SPEEDING on purpose just to test his new found skills, when he found out .. uh oh.. I dont have any skills. I can really care less if he is hurt, really. If i was his medic, i'd treat him just as I would a gang member that shot a cop...(meaning i do everything I could to help w/o judgement.. but not liking it one bit.. because it's my job and what I do.) but since i wasnt. It's very easy to pass judgement since it doesn't seem that the courts are interested in doing anything. COME ON DA get off ur a** and prosecute this nimwit for being reckless, charge him with attempted manslaughter or something. Make him go through the court system, some community service, talk to people that have lost kids or loved ones to reckless driving of someone else. Make him feel some pain other than physical. He's gonna be right back out there, prob driving without a license (because he should lose it till he's 21 if we are lucky.) I'm all for giving kids who make a little mistake a break, but he's 6 months from being what we call an "ADULT" he should be treated as one if he's gonna risk his life and the others around him. If he hurt or killed some kids or mothers or .. do you think you would still be in his small corner by yourself?.. THERE IS NO EXCUSE for using a 3000 lb piece of metal as a weapon... no excuse for driving even 20mph over the speed limit..especially if he's a new driver. .. SPEED KILLS ... I see it ALL THE TIME.

I think papajoe is agood friend of Mike I believe that's his name..Papajoe is his champion. We all need champions. It's okay papa.I will tell you what when he gets his car and license back you can ride with him in the car. I can't believe you are here talking smack to other people voicing their opinons. I hope to god the next driver that drives recklessly doesn't hurt or kill oneof your loved ones because then, BUDDY you will have to eat your own words. Will you sit there thinking "maybe there was a good reason that person did this?" I really doubt it. Deep down you know it was wrong and you know this person should be punished, because if he isn't, he will have learned NOTHING. He wasn't hurt and he didn't kill anyone but let me tell you next time he won't be so lucky! And there will be a next time if he isn't held responsible for his poor choices.

Mr firemedic not Tracy, if you did what you said you would do and point him out you would be breaking the law and then I would put your fire a** out. Saying that he will buy another car and then do it again and that you are sure it will happen then you are talking out of your A** wishing something like this. The kid did make a big mistake and Im sure he knows it, but you will not be the judge. Punk yourself!

SOMEONE who knows this fella should post his name and age and a link to a photo. Let the citizens of tracy shun him and take out our anger on him by berating him in public. I want to be able to point him out in the grocery store as the guy who coulda killed kids if he was just a few minutes later with his reckless and selfish actions. This guy will prob get off with a ticket and a point on his record because no one was injured but himself. He'll go out and buy another car with the insurance money and be back racing around tracy in no time. Our only hope is that he won't kill anyone in his next crash.. believe me, there will be another crash. These young speed punks dont learn their lesson easily.

he should be prosecuted for attempted manslaughter. He knew he was going WAY over the posted limit, he knew he was putting his and other lives in danger and he knew there was a school right there yet he CHOSE to go that fast and therefore should be charged with attempted manslaughter. He is not only lucky to be alive, but lucky he was both by himself so no friends to get hurt, and lucky he didn't do this 15 min later when there would have been 100's of kids milling around and parents driving home for him to hit. He CROSSED the road and FLIPPED ... if you look at that damage, to say he was going less than 70 would be a lie... TURN yourself in and ask the judge to throw the book at you for being a selfish dumba**.

Well "notfragile". The police do patrol the schools. Even if there was an officer there, what could he have done but witness the "crime"and pick up the pieces afterwards. This man was going faster than anyone I have ever seen as if he was on the freeway! People have to be responsible for there own actions. No one but this man could of stoped what he did. Driving that fast on City streets is the same a shooting a gun in a crowd of people. Just because no innocent people got hurt does not change what he did. Only by the Grace of God we were not injured. He needs to know what his actions could of caused. He could of changed the lives of innocent people forever. I hope he knows this.

Haven't enough schoolchildren been killed or injured in our town by reckless driving on city streets? This person absolutely must be punished to the fullest extent of the law. It's time for our lame police force to set an example and finally put the hammer down, quit hiding behind shrubs or pulling moms over leaving school, do your job, prosecute and lock this lunatic up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had just picked up my daughter from school and we were on our way home. This guy almost lost control of the car around the first bend and almost hit my 6 year old daughter and myself! He would of killed us. I am so damn mad at this person for putting my childs life and mine in danger like this. If we were just a few seconds later we could of been where he finally lost control. School just let out. Anyone with their kids could of been killed. I want to know who the hell this guy is and I would like to have a talk with him!!!!How dare he, who in the hell does he think he is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The young man should be in jail..He broke the law. He put himself and others at risk. I dont think there is any reason good enough. I mean really? I guess we can all go out and put others at risk and break all sorts of laws..But only if we have a good reason! And only if we learn a lesson. That is absolutely crazy and if u believe there is any excuse for hurting yourself or others you belong in cell next to this man. If you break a law, commit a crime, you are punished right? You dont get a pass if you can come up with a real good excuse. People that believe, if you have a good enough reason, are a part of whats wrong with society today..the law is black and white there is no gray area. We dont poo-poo people who have a good excuse or who are good people. That is life and that is why you rear your children to be accountable for their actions and always think your decisions through, because one bad decision could cost your own life or someone elses.

I witnessed this accident from the bedroom window of my sisters house directly behind Joe Pombo Pkwy and this young man was definitely speeding. He was going so fast that when his right front wheel hit the curb the impact of that hit sent his car literally flying through the air until it came to rest where it ended up. Once it hit the street it spun around 3x's before coming to rest. (If he wasn't speeding that car COULDN'T have done all that it did with NO water or ICE on the street.) Now, who knows if he received some news that said get here quickly, I'm in agreement with some of the other people, you need to ALWAYS be considerate of others on the street. Just thank GOD the children from Freiler (including my very own NIECE) were not walking down that street because that accident would have been WORSE. I hope this young man has learned a lesson. There is no place on earth that you have to be so quickly that it requires you to speed and risk your own life and the lives of others. You'll get there, when you get there!

I live right at the end of Joe Pombo. Speeders have been a problem there from the beginning. Young people spin donuts right behind my house all the time. The police have been around from time to time, trying to catch speeders, but they can't be everywhere at all times.

I find it ironic that the person who crashed came to rest on a speed limit sign. It is as if God hit him with the sign and said, "Get it?!!". I know God would not do that, but it is ironic.

Papajoe, are you kidding? What a stupid comment!!This idiot was flying and there is no reason on earth to justify it. This dummy should be locked up, with some visible memories of his idiocy. That was during school release at Art Freiler. Tracy PD WAKE UP!!

The city could make a small fortune in the creation of a little speed trap on Pombo and save lives.

You mean the Speedway Pombo Parkway? It is the cut across and Lowell and the Parkway average speed is 50-60mph - No cops...

Raceway alley!

Of course we are all glad this young man survived his accident...and that there were not others involved...But, I am not surprised by it. Joe Pombo Parkway is frequently used to race. And, many commuters use Lowell to that street to cut through to Grant Line...they tailgate you and don't comply with speed limits...regardless of kids in schools and parks nearby.

This young man is very lucky and believe me when I say that he has learn a valuable lesson and knows not only how lucky he is to be alive but that no one else was around. But do not judge someone before you know why and how this accident happened. Speeding was a factor but why?It may not be what it seems, we are too quick to say what may pop in our heads. Lets just thank God for the out come.

I am glad the man is alive. I hope after he recovers he is at the very least cited. Many children walk that way home from school and school was getting out. It disgusts me that someone would be driving fast enough to roll over and take out trees. He could have killed children!
