Senior running back Dexter Alcala and junior defensive lineman Rami Booth both received repeat honors. Alcala was third in league in rushing for the year with 1,139 total yards, behind fellow first-team selections Maurice Howze of St. Mary’s and Theo Wofford of Stagg.
Booth was one of West’s leading defenders, logging 14 unassisted tackles and 29 assists.
Senior wide receiver Patrick Phillips also made the first team, with 139 yards on seven receptions for the year. Senior Ben Stiborek was named to the first-team offensive line, and senior Victor Jovel-Gonzales was named first-team defensive back, with 15 tackles and 17 assists for the season.
Second-team selections from West were senior wide receiver Kyle Lambert, senior tight end Darrin Fleming and senior offensive lineman Michael Cason. Senior linebacker Helaman Hunter received an honorable mention.
West finished with a 2-3 league record, in a tie with Tokay for fourth place, and a 3-7 overall record.
First-place St. Mary’s dominated the all-league selections, with wide receiver Joshua Harper as the league’s most valuable player and 13 other first-team selections. St. Mary’s finished with a 10-0 league season and was the top-ranked team from the north for the California Interscholastic Federation Division III State Bowl before losing in the second round of playoffs. Del Oro of Loomis took a 30-29 win over the Rams.
