The Falcons came home Monday for a California Interscholastic Federation Foundation game at West High against Venture Academy of Stockton. The boys won their game 71-17, and the girls lost 40-38 in overtime. Leading scorers for the girls were Jaylen Woods and Brianna Murawski, each with nine points.
The boys play next at Gustine High on Thursday in the Gustine Rotary Club Tournament. They will face Livingston High in the first round.
The girls play next on Tuesday in a home game against Buckingham Charter of Vacaville.
Enochs 58, Tracy 45
Tracy’s varsity girls lost their first game of the season, 45-58, when they went on the road Saturday to face the Eagles from Enochs High.
The Eagles had a 23-16 lead at the half and kept their lead via a fourth-quarter surge. Tonta’ne Gilbert was Tracy’s leading scorer with 17 points, and Karsi Fyfe scored seven. Gilbert also had 10 rebounds and six steals.
Freshmen: Tracy 25, Enochs 24
Tracy’s freshmen girls started their season with a 25-24 win at Enochs. Tracy started with a slim lead and stayed ahead of the Eagles for the win.
Tammy Serrato scored 11 for Tracy, and Shelby Perry, Angela Mariani and Emily Anchartechahar each scored four.
Foothill 53, Tracy 38
Foothill outscored Tracy boys consistently until the fourth quarter for the 53-38 win in the Bulldogs’ first game of the season in Pleasanton on Saturday.
The Falcons had a 30-15 lead at the half and kept the lead throughout.
Daryl Dancy was Tracy’s leading scorer with 12 points, and Tyler Black and T.J. Williams each scored eight. Mychal James and Williams were the top rebounders, with 11 boards each.
Sophomores: Foothill 55, Tracy 32
Foothill came out strong to take a 31-12 lead at the half over the Tracy boys.
Tracy kept up with Foothill in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t close the gap.
Ryan Black scored 12 for the Bulldogs, Matt Loscavio scored six and Kenny Hilliard scored five.
