A former Tracy substitute teacher who pleaded no contest to charges of child molestation and pornography possession will be sentenced later this month.

A hearing had been scheduled Tuesday for the sentencing of Jessie Llorente III, 39, a former Kelly School substitute teacher who will face up to three years in state prison and have to register as a sex offender for life.

San Joaquin County Superior Court spokeswoman Stephanie Bohrer said the hearing was continued to 10 a.m. Dec. 14 at the Stockton courthouse.

Bohrer said prosecutor Elton Grau delayed the sentencing because he wanted to see whether the victims’ families wished to address the court.

Llorente pleaded no contest in September to nine felony counts of lewd acts upon a child, nine misdemeanor counts of child molestation and one felony count of possessing child pornography.

Llorente told police he was aroused by caressing the hair and shoulders of some of the girls he taught. Police also said in March that Llorente admitted to owning child pornography.

The hearing has been postponed a few times as both sides awaited a psychologist’s report to determine whether Llorente is likely to be a repeat offender upon release. Llorente’s attorney, Deborah Fialkowski, said Monday that the report is in.

How pathetic is this justice system where child molesters and rapists only get three to ten years and then don't even serve that?! This guy is going to strut out of there in like a year and go and do it again to some other poor child. OOOhhhh, he has to register as a sex offender for life, but those girls have to live with that creepy feeling and what he did for the rest of their lives. Just pathetic!
