Those who could use a little help for the holidays are encouraged to apply for Brighter Christmas, Tracy’s toy and food drive.
Sign-ups to be a recipient will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Tracy Community Center, 950 East St. Those who seek help must show a photo ID, proof-of-rent receipt, proof of children and a utility bill showing their Tracy address.
A year ago, Brighter Christmas helped 785 local families.

Coat drive, other donations are ongoing
Tracy Home Inspections has offered to pick up used coats in good condition and new coats of any size and drive them to Tracy Interfaith Ministries, where they will be put to good use by people in need of a warm coat this winter.
Tracy Interfaith also seeks sweaters, blankets, portable heaters, cooking pots, frying pans, sheets of all sizes, pillows and small household appliances, such as coffee pots and toasters.
Tracy Interfaith accepts household donations (but not furniture), as well as clothes and food.
