The Tracy Police Department will host its third annual safety fair and coat drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 5 at El Pescadero Skate Park,

299 W Grant Line Road.

Operation: Safe Park will include remote-controlled car races and a free raffle for children, as well as many other activities. A helicopter will also be on display.

Amber Moon, a Tracy police officer, said bikes and scooters were given away at the fair last year, and there will likely be bikes given away again this year.

Moon said Santa Claus will take pictures with children, and there will be a talk on railroad safety at the park.

Volunteers will collect canned food for local food banks and new and used coats.

Moon said all the coats from the drive will be given to Tracy Interfaith Ministries. The fair is important, she said, because it’s a way to educate the community and make local police more accessible to residents.
