Gunmen over the weekend robbed local market and a dry cleaning business, though it’s unclear whether the two crimes are related.

At about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, two men with guns wearing dark hooded sweatshirts robbed the Bonfare Market at Grant Lone Road and Holly Drive.

The men apparently got away with $400 in a green bag, and a police dog searched a nearby field as officers scoured the neighborhood, even detaining four people, as they searched for suspects.

Four guys were reported to have jumped a fence in Portola Way, hopped in a car and drove off.

On Friday morning, a woman at Delux Cleaners, 24 E. 10th St., reported two men with guns robbed her and stole money.

The clerk said she walked out of a back room and one of the men pointed a gun at her and told her to get down, according to the police log.

She said one of the suspects appeared to have some kind of Halloween mask on. Someone at a nearby bank told police tellers saw the robbery. One witness said two guys about 25 wearing dark hooded sweatshirts took off in a four-door compact car.

Police spokesman Tony Sheneman could not be reached for comment.
