A benefit concert to raise money for a Tracy woman with cancer will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night at the Modesto Virtual, 947 10 St. Modesto.

Sara Herrera is a 35-year-old single mother of two who works at Restoration Hardware and was diagnosed with breast cancer on Oct 2.

The idea for the benefit was started by Krystle Poovey, a photographer who resides in Tracy. Her boyfriend Richard Harris is the member of the band Machuko and knows people who work at the Modesto Virtual. She talked to her boyfriend about putting together a benefit concert for Herrera. Other people who helped plan the concert were Matthew Foggiato, Lynnae Lamprda, and Kathy Poovey.

The event will feature four bands, Machuko, 3 Dead in Washington, THC, and Asiago. The concert is free and open to all ages. There will be a donation box available for people to give money to Herrera, who will receive all the money in the box.

Doors open at 6 p.m.
