EDITOR,

Well, he’s done it. He voted yes on the Nancy Pelosi heath care bill in the House of Representatives.

He didn’t listen. He doesn’t care what you and I think. He doesn’t care about burdening us with another trillion dollars-plus of spending and taxes. He doesn’t care about allowing the government to control us in every aspect of our lives. He just doesn’t care.

Time to fire him and make sure he will not represent us next term. If you agree, then vote Rep. Jerry McNerney out of office. I will! God bless America.

No, I don't. I tried to ask a question on the "phoney town hall" and they wouldn't let me ask my question. Apparently he has to fly to California every weekend to take a few calls on a phone conference, but won't take my call??? Personally, I have no idea why he voted for it, unless it was lock step with Nancy, I guess.

And why on earth did he not have to answer for the Tracy Police Department getting turned down for financial aid, with all the crime we've seen this year. I'm not even sure Tracy has a Congresmsman anymore.

Sorry, I really don't understand all of what yer writin here. Sounds like ya don't support him any more than I do.

What Republican did this ta us? Wall I was writin about one of th local bloggers here that was in animate support of him. Who yer referin to I don't have an idea.

As fer as th next three questions, yer gonna have ta give me more ta work with here because they sorta contradict each other an make a strange association ta th Constitution. ???

Now as fer as why he didn't have a face ta face with th Citizens of Tracy yer gonna havta ask him an hold him accountable. When I last had a fact ta face with him I told him exactly what yer talkin about in keepin him informed an a healthy admonishment ta not listen ta Nancy an find out things fer himself.

But from observation I don't thank it had much effect on him cause I didn't see th "Change" I had expected of him. Hey, ya can lead a horse ta water but ya can't make em drink.

I can answer th last question fer ya too. He got elected because of th support he got from those who seem ta like this sort of thing an th rest of those who elected him liked what they were hearin. Sort of like attendin a good concert an later findin out it was all lip-synched by lookalikes on stage.

What I see happenin now is what I like ta call a little "buyer's remorse."

Hey, th collective we bought th package from th advertisement an th fancy trimmins on th side of th wrapper. Only ta find when th package was opened an dumped out it wasn't at all what was expected.

Hopefully th collective we will do thair homework a little better than ta listen ta th grandiose claims of th barker fer th snake-oil salesman come next election time.

Next time kick th tires fer yerself before ya take th auto-salesman's word fer it.

Ornley, what republican did this to us? Healthcare should be at the state level? Not the federal level? That's unconstitutional? Why didn't our congressman have a town hall and talk to people in Tracy, CA face to face? Somebody could have informed him not to listen to Nancy if he would have had a town hall meeting, in person, in Tracy? I ask again, how did he get elected?

I find it sad that our Congressman does work for veterans in San Ramon and Stockton to create 900 jobs in Stockton and all the jobs in SanRamon/Dublin/Pleasanton they can handle. But doesn't it look like our Congressman passes over Tracy, CA like it was the leapfrogger game, or something?

What's up with our Congressman? Doesn't he care about Tracy after the election?

Congress honors Sentinels of Freedom

Founder Mike Conklin applauds resolution

Photo

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution Nov. 2 honoring the San Ramon-based Sentinels of Freedom.

U.S. Rep. Jerry McNerney (D., 11th) authored the resolution, which commends Sentinels of Freedom for its work offering comprehensive support to veterans severely injured in the line of duty on or after Sept. 11, 2001. The program provides these veterans with mentoring and the tools to enroll in school, find and maintain a job, and obtain housing.

Yer point is correct an well taken. An I completely agree with ya on th unconstitutional bit as well.

I didn't vote fer him either, mainly because I looked inta his background as a businessman an I didn't like what I saw.

Ta be honest with ya, when I looked inta his background, what I saw was a flim flam. He was just sayin what people wanted ta hear just ta get elected an had a lot of support from a Republicrat who is local and had a personal grudge against th Republican runnin against him.

Now this individual seems ta be just as upset with McNerney's non-performance as the rest of us who didn't vote for him cus we expected this type of non-performance out of him.

My statement still stands though, "Next time I'd suggest YALL do yer homework a little more diligently an look inta th past performance an history of the politicians before ya cast yer next vote or this sort of thing is gonna happen again.

Sorry if ya thought I was pointin th finger at you personally. If ya didn't vote fer him then it would seem ta me ya knew about some of this before hand and that caused ya ta vote th way ya did.

Votin a party line or votin fer th guy that can make a good charismatic speech isn't really gonna fix anythin. Ya gotta look at th individual an make yer selection based on that individual's performance, not what he say's he's gonna do or what his party say's he's gonna do.

If he's on the up and up he's gonna do what we, his constituents, want him to do instead of playin the party political game that accomplishes not much of anythin good.

This time around it's no incumbents for me. Tired of th party nonsense and it's time ta bust up th party an have th people take back control of thair government.

Now that's a change I can probably work with cus up ta now I really haven't seen much of a change at all cept things seem ta be gettin worse. Let's turn that around shall we?

Ornley_Gumfudgen, we need to be careful not to paint with a wide brush. Some people didn't vote for McNerney yet once he was in office, some of those same people who didn't for him tried to reason with McNerney in regards to health care, but McNerney didn't appear to listen to reason.

Fining people and putting them in jail for up to 5 years for not purchasing any product (such as health care) is unconstitutional.

Don't know why all ya folks got yer kickers in a wad over Jerry. He's performed exactly as was advertised. Problem is that most of ya either missed or didn't understand th advertisement an now that ya have purchased th inferior goods ya got buyer's remorse.

Well that's th way it goes in th world of politics.

Next time I'd suggest yall do yer homework a little more diligently an look inta th past performance an history of the politicians before ya cast yer next vote or this sort of thing is gonna happen again.

The snake oil medicine men of the late 1800s and early 1900s made lots of money dupin th people ta support em by given em thair money.

Politics taday is a lot like a bunch of people listenin ta th spiel of th ole snake oil salesman.

I agree, McNerney must go. We should learn from history as the government runs:

the post office

social security

medicaid

medicare

and they are all bankrupt so why would any thinking person believe the government will do any better with our health care?

While health care is a great issue to discuss, as I see it, what we first need is tort reform and then allow health providers to provider services across state lines.

It's no secret what my opinion of McNerney is. Anyone who has met him face to face knows that this guy isn't really "in-touch" with reality or the people of his district. He's living in a cacoon, hoping his big sister (Pelosi) will rescue him from his fate. He's due the same fate the rest of the Congress is going to get next November = NO on McNerney in 2010, along with the rest of the liberals in the Congress.

I especially feel he is not representing Tracy very well. We need jobs in Tracy. Is he even aware of this concern? And why did the TPD not get funding after all that happened? They were flat out denied and I didn't read any where he supported TPD funding?

I will second the vote.

Yes, time for Congressman McNerney to go. I don't feel he is really listening and I think he is out of touch.

I agree. Time for McNerney to go. I wonder, did he read the whole bill? And to those who support Pelosi and NcNerney for voting for the health care bill, do you know what is in it?? This country cannot afford this bill. This is not health care reform.
