EDITOR,

One ought to meditate upon the recent events at Fort Hood, Texas, and who we allow into our military.

All military personnel swear an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies, both foreign and domestic. The Constitution is a document that not only limits government, but establishes equality of all people before the law.

While this is not to paint a broad brush against those who subscribe to certain tenets of the Islamic faith, it does pertain to those who support the institution of Sharia law. Sharia law considers women to be inferior to men, with few rights, as well as all people who are not Muslim. Many believers also subscribe to violent overthrow of constitutional government to reach their goals. Such individuals consider it ethical to lie to reach what they consider to be noble ends.

Such people cannot be trusted to uphold the Constitution if there is evidence they believe in Sharia law, any more than we could trust Nazis or communists to do the same. We need to enforce constitutional oaths far more vigorously and eliminate such dangerous people entering the military.

We have more than 160,000 foreign military people working inside the USA military. Can't say it wouldn't happen again.

Too much political correctness ties a person's hands?? Kept him from getting the help he should have gotten and spared the unfortunate people's lives.

So sad for the families!!

Imagine Maj. Hassans dismay when he awoke to find his '72 virgins' looking like "men in black" and very large Americans dressed in military uniforms?

Good article Scott but thairs some things yer gonna have to adjust to carry it off.

The notions of political correctness and valuing diversity have cause many of these things ta slip through th cracks.

In th recent Ft. Hood incident th indications somethin was drastically wrong had been showing for a long time an nothin much was done about it.

Ta solve th bigger problem yer gonna have to redefine what is politically correct an what ain't. Until ya do that an unfetter th folks that know what's goin on but can't do anythin about it because it might be politically incorrect, yer not goin ta fix this type of problem.

Th fact of th matter is this Major should have been dealt with a long long time before he took th actions he did, killin and maimin all those people.

An fer those of ya who think that guns were th problem, just remember that it was several people with guns that stopped him.
