The city of Tracy has three vacancies on its Parks and Community Services Commission and seeks volunteers to fill them.

Anyone who applies must live within the Tracy city limits, and no city officials or employees can apply for the position.

The duties of commissioners include establishing rules and regulations for recreation activities and parks; reviewing grants, park development and design; and advising the City Council about parks and recreation activities.

All members are appointed and serve at the discretion of the City Council. Any member who misses three consecutive regular meetings is automatically dismissed from the board.

The commission meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of every month in the City Council chambers, 333 Civic Center Plaza. The commission also has occasional special meetings. All members of the commission receive $50 compensation for each meeting.
