Tracy girl Bailey Poole seeks donations of books as she works toward her Girl Scout Bronze Award.

For her project, Bailey has put together a book drive, with all books to be donated to Brighter Christmas. She is looking for new and gently used child- and teen-appropriate books.

Bailey has arranged a drop-off spot for books at Java Makers, 835 S Tracy Blvd. She has also scheduled a book reading at 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at Barnes & Noble Booksellers at the West Valley Mall, 3200 Naglee Road. She and her guests, the members of the Tracy Dry Bean Festival royal court, will read stories. Bailey asks that books be purchased for donation.

She has about 40 books so far.
