She saved the check so police could see it.
The Tracy Police Department received 186 calls for service Tuesday. The following is a sample of those calls:
1:15 a.m.: A guy at the Oasis Trailer Park, 360 E. Grant Line Road, reported his mentally ill mother-in-law threatened to “get people to come over” and beat him up.
8:10 a.m.: A woman at the Green Oaks Mobile Home Park, 2929 MacArthur Drive, reported the theft of a rear license plate.
9:12 a.m.: A caller from Tracy Worknet, 213 W. Tracy Blvd., reported a guy who the previous day said he was “at his wit’s end,” had a gun and would kill himself, was back in the job searching agency. An officer talk to the man, who said he was frustrated at being out of work and wasn’t suicidal.
9:33 a.m.: A caller from the Avalon Apartments, 565 Peerless Way, reported her runaway daughter returned home.
10:08 a.m.: A caller at JT Storage, 2460 Toste Road, reported a continual problem with vandalism to a fence.
10:41 a.m.: A caller reported someone broke a window at Villalovos Elementary School, 1500 Cypress Drive, and left behind a jar of jelly used to break it.
11:21 a.m.: A woman reported a chiropractor on the 500 block of West Eaton Avenue touched her “inappropriately.”
2:56 p.m.: Police arrested a man at Central Avenue and Eighth Street on five outstanding warrants, most relating to alleged public drunkenness, totaling $130,000. He was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.
4:09 p.m.: A woman complained a 35-year-old driver tried to run down her daughter near Lincoln Park, 170 W. Eaton Ave. The caller said she and the driver each have daughters who are having trouble with each other at Tracy High School.
4:13 p.m.: A caller on the 3200 block of Balboa Drive complained a debt collector keeps phoning and refuses to believe the company has the wrong address. Police gave some tips to the caller to see if the company is legitimate, and also suggested signing up for the do-not-call list.
4:52 p.m.: A woman was taken into custody at Costco, 3250 W. Grant Line Road, on suspicion of trying to steal $300 worth of merchandise. Police cited and released her.
5:21 p.m.: A woman on the 4600 block of Breckinridge Court reported her ex-boyfriend was at her door knocking. She said a restraining order against him expired at 5 p.m., and she didn’t know what he wanted and did not feel comfortable answering the door. An officer showed up.
5:37 p.m.: A security guard at Home Depot, 2461 Naglee Road, held down a suspected shoplifter, who police later arrested, cited and released.
6:33 p.m.: A caller reported a dog on the 1900 block of Thomas De Haven Court was chained to a tree with less than 2 feet of slack and had no food or water.
7:32 p.m.: A caller reported a car was broken into at Wellness Chiropractic Center, 227 E. 11th St.
10:12 p.m.: A woman on the 1200 block of Ray Wise Lane reported receiving a call from another woman who said the caller was the girlfriend of a San Jose murder victim. The caller said she didn’t know the victim, and the woman wasn’t threatening, but wanted to deliver a message from the victim. The caller was told to expect to talk to a San Jose detective.
9:45 p.m.: A woman reported seeing a man and a woman with flashlights in the backyard of a vacant home on the 300 block of East 22nd Street. They told an officer they were helping their mother move out, and police said they had keys to the home.
10:32 p.m.: A caller reported hearing a boy and woman yelling at each other on the 1900 block of Pagoda Court. The woman caller said the woman yelled, “You’re a murderer!” and also heard her say, “You have a gun.” An officer showed up and talked to the kid, and gave advice on how to get help with the child.
